Low / High Pressure ProblemsUpdated 8 months ago
If your cartridge is clean then that sounds like a pressure problem. Here are the common causes of low / high pressure.
Dirty filter cartridges:
- Thoroughly clean your filter cartridges
- Give them a soak in some filter cleaning solution to ensure that all gunk is melted away
Damaged filter cartridges:
- Replace your filter cartridges if there are some visible damage or staining/gunk that cannot be removed
Low Pool Water Level:
- Insufficient water in the pool can lead to pressure loss.
- Maintain the water level above the skimmer basket to prevent air from entering the system.
- Use an automatic water leveling device to keep your pool water in check.
Loose or Leaking Union or Coupling in the Pipes:
- Check connections on the suction side of the pump.
- Tighten any loose fittings to eliminate air bubbles.
Congested or Blocked Skimmer Basket:
- Debris and leaves can accumulate in the skimmer basket.
- Regularly empty the basket to maintain consistent water flow.
Pump Lid Not Sealing Properly:
- Ensure the pump lid is tightly sealed to prevent air leaks.
Clogged Impeller:
- Debris can clog the impeller, reducing water flow.
- Clean the impeller regularly.
Damaged Impeller:
- A damaged impeller can impact pump efficiency.
- Inspect and replace if necessary.
Cracked Pump Housing:
- Cracks in the pump housing can cause leaks and pressure loss.
- Address any visible damage promptly.
Congested Pump Strainer Basket:
- Regularly clean the strainer basket to maintain water flow.
Faulty Pressure Gauge:
- A malfunctioning pressure gauge can provide inaccurate readings.
- Replace if needed. Replacement Water TechniX Pressure Gauge here
